Baseball and good by # 6

Thank you Bobby Cox for all that you have done for the city of Atlanta!

I grew up in Atlanta and I am a Braves fan before I am a fan of any other team regardless of sport.  Don't get me wrong I like football both college and pro, I like racing, but my true sports love is baseball.  In Field of Dreams when Terrance Mann gives this speech,
"Ray, people will come Ray. They'll come to Iowa for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past. Of course, we won't mind if you look around, you'll say. It's only $20 per person. They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it is money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come."
It still rings true and gives me goosebumps!  Why? Because for me it's true, I love baseball, always have.  It's one of the few things I can relate to with my father he taught me the game and he has a true passion for it.  I love going to the ballpark and living here in Birmingham I have Rickwood which is the oldest park in the country at this point.  I love the Rickwood Classic every year where the Birmingham Barons play a game at the field.  Here is a link to my photo's from this year.

Good buy # 6, your steady hand will be missed.

Less than 120 days until the biggest tax increase in history!

How many time when BHO was trying to get elected did we hear "If you make less than $250K a year, your taxes will remain the same" I knew when he said it it was a lie but apparently not everyone got the memo that politicians lie, especially about taxes.   I just love Obama!

I really do hate the president...

I read this on BHO visiting New Orleans today and well all I can say is this is what we get for electing a community organizer to run our country.  I especially love the line "it was a natural disaster, but also a man-made catastrophe - shameful breakdown in government that left countless men, women and children abandoned and alone" what a load of horse manure!  The national hurricane service issued a warning 40 hours before the storm hit landfall and issued another warning the day before it hit that the levees could be toped and break.  Everything was done by the book in both of those circumstances.  Here is the problem that I have:  It is not nor should it ever be the government's responsibility to get you out of harms way.  There is no other way to put it.  The people that were trapped there, were there under their under their own free will.  They were told what was going to happen and while it was a tragic thing that happened those people are doing today, 5 years later, what they were doing then and thats waiting on a hand out.

This is why we are in such bad finacial shape.

This article just pisses me off to no end!  The owner of the Florida Marlins Jeffery Loria is one of the biggest scam artist I have ever seen!  The fact that he hid profits from the city in order to get them to fund the new stadium is ridiculous in the least and criminal at best.  However Mr. Loria is not the only one to blame in this fiasco, no no no my friends the Miami county commission is just as much to blame.  The loans they took out include one from J.P. Morgan chase for 90 million dollars that from the years 2041 to 2047 the city must repay 118 million PER YEAR!  Thats right folks 1.2 BILLION for a 90 million dollar loan.  How does the city explain this boondoggle? The county is banking on 118 million to be a pittance by 2041...WHAT are you fucking kidding me?  This is an outrage and the city of Miami should be in an uproar...;_ylt=AiW2Ihc3dXT.AP5GDgQfQ1Y5nYcB?slug=jp-marlinsfinancials082410

Does BHO want to be reelected?

This article hits on some things that I agree with, first and foremost does this guy really think he is bigger than the presidency? The answer is a resounding YES, I think he does.  Obama was elected on his speaking skills and his empty promises.  How many times did you hear from some poor black person "When Obama is elected I won't have to pay my mortgage, the government is gonna do that for me."  All I can say is what a bunch of dumb asses?  This man is a fraud, plain and simple, there is no other way to it.  The second thing that gets me is the whole citizen of the world thing.  It pisses me off that he is such a kiss ass to our enemies. You are not a citizen of the world you dumb motherfucker, you are a citizen of the United States of America and in my opinion You should be proud of that.  In fact, you know what if your not, why don't you get to steppin and move to one of those Muslim countries you love so much and take that bitch of a wife and two girls with you, let them live under shiria law for a little while and see if you don't come crawling back wanting American citizenship back?

Pension's for government workers

I read this on a 3 TRILLION dollar "bailout" of government pensions and all I can say is WOW.  We need to start holding public officials responsible for what they do in office.  If an investment firm handled private sector money the way these jack asses handle tax payer money they would be arrested and thrown in jail for operating a larger ponzi scheme than Bernie Madoff.  These people, that we elect are entrusted with our tax dollars that they are supposed to treat like their own money, no better than their own.  Instead they treat it like monopoly money and spend in the most frivolous ways imaginable.  From bridges to nowhere to bailouts for banks and wall street, these people that we elect act as if it is their right to tax and spend as much as they see fit.  I think it is time that we tell them NO, this is our money it comes from the fruit of our labor and it is ours too be used how we see fit.

How in Allah's name does this happen?

Okay, this goes back to the "W" years!  How in the world is The Taliban not listed as a terrorist organization by the state department?  We have been fighting the weird beards for 10 YEARS!  That's a decade!  Check this out "To qualify, an organization must meet only three criteria: It must be foreign, it must engage in terrorist activity and its activity must threaten the security of the U.S. or its citizens"  how in the good lords name do these guys not qualify?  I am certain that when making this list they should be #1 on the list!  In the last decade can you think of any organization that has done those three specific things more?  All I can say is "our government at it's finest"
